Graduation & Senior Info

TIME CHANGE - CEREMONY WILL START AT 7pm

We will not open the gates until 6:15pm and ask that families to do not line up in advance to avoid the heat.
There are plenty of seats in both the VIP and General Admission for families. Please do not leave gaps in the seats so that all can have a place to sit.

Graduation Practice

Breakfast will start at 8am in the cafeteria with practice starting no later than 8:30am. Graduates should bring hats and lots of water as they will be in the sun during practice. We will end practice as soon as possible and encourage students to go home and rest and hydrate.

Graduates

  • Students will be given a bottle of water under their graduation chairs.
  • Students will also have a paper fan on their chair.

Google and Downloading Your Documents

As you prepare for the end of the year, or if you are leaving the school for some other reason, remember you can take the content created using your Google student.rjuhsd.us account with you. You can download the contents of your Drive by launching Chrome browser and signing into your student.rjuhsd.us account. Within the Drive app press “Ctrl + A” to select all files and then right click and select download. Your files will be downloaded into a .Zip folder that you can put on a flash drive or upload to your personal Google account.

Transcript Requests

All transcript requests are processed through Parchment.  Requests cannot be made in person. Students, be sure to use a personal email address to create your Parchment account.  DO NOT use your @student.rjuhsd.us email as you will not have access to this account once you graduate. Also, if you have any information in your student Google Drive, docs, sheets, etc that you would like to keep long term, make sure  that you save those items to a personal device since you will also lose access to all Google services connected to your @student account.

If you know which college/university/trade school you will be attending, you can make your transcript request now and ask that the transcript be held for final grades. When you request your transcript(s), between now and when final grades post on June 13th, please make sure you answer the question When do you want this sent, with Hold for Grades.  If you do not answer with this, your transcript will be processed now without final grades and you will need to make another request.

Lastly, please make sure to make all requests before June 27th to guarantee that your transcript is sent by the July 1st deadline.  Anything requested after June 27th will most likely not meet the UC/CSU and out of state college deadlines for final transcript submissions.  **Please note that ALL fees and fines, including but not limited to: overdue library books, textbooks, all electronics including billed electronics, sport uniforms, and previous school fees and fines MUST already be taken care of and you should be free and clear of owing anything to Oakmont High School or any other high school(s) you may have attended.  If you leave a balance, your transcript request(s) WILL NOT BE PROCESSED.  Please take care of your fees and fines now, do not wait.

If you have any questions regarding this process, please email the Registrar, Christina Winn at cwinn@rjuhsd.us For any questions about Parchment please use Parchment's customer service help link. To check if you have fees or fines or to clear them, contact our Student Services Administrative Assistant, Nicole Fajardo at nfajardo@rjuhsd.us

Senior Recordings

We have a long-standing OHS tradition that we would like to have our seniors participate in.   Please help us make your graduation a special occasion.

  • Graduates will record a Pre Ceremony Thank You Message - AUDIO RECORDING - DUE May 19
  • Graduates will VIDEO RECORD themselves moving their tassels right to left with their cap on or toss their cap in the air (Caps and Gown delivered on May 19). Recordings should be done in 16x9 Portrait or Landscape aspect ratio and DUE no later than May 24.

Please remember that any inappropriate or questionable audio/video will not be included.

RECORDING YOUR AUDIO

To ensure good quality audio, we want graduates to go to Room 210 during either lunch, intervention (any period) or third period and use the recording equipment on campus. Bring your script below and complete this no later than May 19. Room 210 is open starting Monday April 21.

If you choose to record yourself, Cell Phones or Video Camera are possible options but we would encourage you to use high end recording equipment.  Please record at the highest possible setting and in an area with little background noise.  Once you have finished your audio recording you will begin the process of sharing it with Mr. Bohren / OHS Advanced Media.  Please make sure the audio recording file is labeled prior to sharing.  Name it with your “last name” & then “first name”. (bohren_kelly). Once you have renamed the file please share it via your school gmail account on Google Drive with Mr. Bohren at the email kbohren@rjuhsd.us no later than May 19.

SCRIPT FOR PRE CEREMONY THANK YOU MESSAGE - AUDIO

Your recording should be no more than 10 seconds. Your recording should thank the adults in your life (staff members, parents, relatives) that have positively affected you throughout your educational career.  We highly recommend you write out your script ahead of time so it does not exceed 10 seconds.

This message will be played with other student messages prior to the graduation ceremony on May 30th.

Hello. This is _______________________________ [insert your first and last name].

MOVE TASSEL OR TOSS CAP INTO THE AIR - VIDEO

Students are asked to video themselves wearing their cap and gown and choosing to either move their Tassel OR tossing their cap into the air.  Please only record one of the two options. Please keep the video simple and a steady shot.  You can record this as Portrait or Landscape. This video should only be a couple seconds in length and will be shown on the Graduation Live Stream on May 30th. Share this file the same way you are with the audio file above.
