You must first be offered the job before requesting and obtaining a Work Permit from Oakmont High School.
Please allow up to 24 hours for processing.
ALL work permits expire August 15th each year, regardless of when the Permit was issued.
How to submit your work permit application
Drop off your completed* work permit application to Mrs. Headrick in the College & Career Center.
*The following sections must be completed before your work permit is processed:
- Student info with Social Security Number and student signature
- Employer/business info and signature
- Parent signature.
An incomplete work permit application will delay the processing time of your permit.
A student signature is required at the time of pick-up. Parents are not allowed to sign for their child.
How to qualify
- Must currently have a 2.0+ GPA
- No more than 1 "F" for current semester
- Satisfactory attendance
When is a Work Permit Required?:

- When attending high school and under the age of 18 (minor).
*You do not need a work permit once you graduate high school, even if you are still a minor (under 18).
Work Restrictions:
- The number of hours allowed to work is determined by the State of California. See hour limits on page 2 of the application, based on your age.
