Library

1. Is the library open after school? Unless otherwise noted in front of the main doors, the library is open every day until 4 PM.
2. How much is it to print from a computer?   We do not charge for printing in black ink.
3. My book is overdue, so how much will I be fined? There is no daily overdue fine. However, after 6 weeks, books will be marked lost and you will be charged the replacement cost. 
4. Do I need to pay my fine immediately? No, you do not. However, all fines must be paid in order to purchase dance tickets. The deadline to pay your fine
   is the end of the term.
5. How many books can I check out? You can check out four books at a time.
6. When are books due? Books are due three weeks after you check them out.
7. Are the computers for school work only? Yes and no. Students needing to use computers for academic reasons always have priority. If there are open
   stations, the computers may be used to check email and surf acceptable sites.

1. How do I purchase the Chromebook Protection Plan? Is there a deadline?  This is the link to information about the Protection Plan. Students have 2 weeks after the device has been issued or the beginning of the school year to purchase insurance. 
2. My Chromebook is broken. What do I do?  Take the device to the library and see Mr. Markovich. You will complete a repair form and she will issue you a loaner device.
3. I forgot my password. You can reset your password at my.rjuhsd.us. If you have not established your password recovery questions, you can see Mr. Markovich in the library for assistance.

Purpose
Oakmont High School, as part of RJUHSD, is proud to be a 1-to-1 school, providing every student with a Chromebook for their learning. For those rare times when a student forgets or can't charge their Chromebook, a limited number of daily loaner Chromebooks are available for checkout.

Policy
To ensure that all students have access to a Chromebook while maintaining accountability for the devices loaned, and maintain this loaner service, students are asked to:

• Follow RJUHSD Chromebook Contract (as agreed to in Data Confirmation).
• Return the loaner in the same condition received.
• Return the loaner by the end of the school day to not accrue any fees.

If a student’s device is lost or damaged, they can visit the Library for overnight loaners and support. Students keeping a loaner for 2+ nights will be placed on the No-Go List until the loaner is returned. Students may be referred to administration, for repeated abuse of the loaner program (which includes checking out multiple loaners at a time).

Procedure

1. Daily Loaners : Students may check out a Chromebook for the day if they do not have their own device.
2. Check-Out Location : Loaner Chromebooks will be available for check-out at the Library Circulation desk unless otherwise directed.
3. All teachers have spare chargers so if a Chromebook isn't charged, students should not ask for a loaner but charge their Chromebook in class.

Fees/Fines
If any of the following occur, all Chromebooks checked out to a specific student will be locked, and a "lost Chromebook fee" will be added to the student account:

• Student who does not return their loaner at the end of the day OR
• Student who has checked out a loaner 3 times within 7 days or less, or have had the same loaner for 5+ consecutive days, OR
• Student is not using their assigned Chromebook, OR
• Multiple loaners are checked out to one student

Senior Chromebook: $120
Junior Chromebook: $170
Sophomore Chromebook: $220
Freshman Chromebook: $270
 

1. When are my textbooks due? Textbooks are due at the end of each semester. This includes novels read in your English classes. Students who do not return their textbooks are fined the full amount for each book.
2. My book is damaged. What do I do? It is important to notify library staff as soon as you realize there is damage. Staff will need to evaluate the damage and determine next steps.
